Josh originally comes from an artist background living in regional Australia spanning the east coast of NSW and Queensland. A graduate of the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) in 2020, a Bachelor with Honours degree in Design in Animation. Josh continued to pursue and broaden his practice in First Nation Storytelling at AFTRS with a Master of Screen Arts in Animation. Josh now continues to develop and create content in the First Nations art and screen landscapes.

Catching Fire is the Animation Studio Josh had founded in 2023, as a response to being a selected participant in ABC's Fresh Blood initiative. Catching Fire with Josh's lead, produced 3 Animated/Live-action mini webseries episodes "KingsLand" on ABC's YouTube channel as well as Catching Fire's YouTube channel.

Josh is now with Screen Australia's Enterprise People, a year of industry placement with Studio Gilay, a well-known half-First Nations-owned animation studio that is renowned for there First Nations practices and content. Josh will utilise his time there to become a better storyteller and animator for Catching Fire and collaborative projects in future.
